Gaithersburg, MD (July 4, 2026) – Five people were injured in a multi-vehicle crash involving a school bus Thursday morning at the intersection of Firstfield Road and Clopper Road in Montgomery County. Emergency units responded to the scene around 7:10 a.m. on July 2 after reports of a serious collision.
The Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services said four vehicles were involved in the crash, including a school bus that was rear-ended. Officials said the bus driver was reportedly training a student driver at the time of the collision. One driver had to be extricated from a vehicle, while emergency personnel treated multiple individuals at the scene.
At least five people were transported to area hospitals, including one patient taken for adult trauma care. Officials noted that most of the injuries were reported as minor. No students were on the school bus at the time of the crash.
