Understanding Distracted Driving and Emergency Vehicles
Distracted driving is a major factor in crashes, even for emergency responders who are trained to operate vehicles safely. Distractions can include using communication devices, adjusting equipment, or momentary lapses in attention.
Crashes involving stationary vehicles can occur quickly, especially on highways where speeds are higher and reaction time is limited. Emergency personnel often review these incidents to improve safety procedures and prevent future accidents.
