Fort Worth, TX (May 6, 2026) – A Dallas County transport van carrying inmates was rear-ended on Tuesday morning on eastbound I-30 near Eastchase Parkway, leaving five people hospitalized.
The crash occurred just after 7 a.m. on Tuesday, May 5. The van was transporting inmates to the Dallas County Jail when another vehicle struck it from behind. Emergency units responded to the scene, which was fully cleared by 8:40 a.m.
Four of the five inmates were treated and released, then booked into the jail as originally planned. A fifth inmate remained hospitalized, though not due to crash-related injuries; authorities noted the continued stay was for evaluation of a pre-existing medical condition.
