San Antonio, TX (August 7, 2026) – Four apartment residents were hurt after a late-night fire spread through part of an apartment complex on San Antonio’s southeast side Wednesday night.
The fire was reported around 10 p.m. at the Pecan Valley Golf Club Apartments in the 4900 block of Pecan Grove Blvd. Heavy flames were seen coming from a second-story apartment and extending through the roof when emergency units arrived. One resident was rescued from the building, while another escaped by jumping from a second-story window.
Both residents were taken to a hospital. Two additional residents were hospitalized after breathing smoke. A San Antonio police officer who assisted with evacuations was treated at the property for smoke inhalation but was not hospitalized.
Fire crews brought the fire under control in about 30 minutes. Four apartment units were damaged, though officials said only two of those units were occupied at the time. The cause of the fire has not been determined. The investigation into the fire remains ongoing as officials work to determine how it started.
