Wet Roads Add Risk During Morning Turns
Morning crashes near school entrances can involve several traffic movements at once. Drivers may be turning into parking areas while other vehicles continue through the main road.
Wet pavement can also affect stopping distance and vehicle control. Even when traffic is moving normally, slick roads may leave drivers with less time to react before vehicles meet in an intersection.
Crashes involving children may require careful medical evaluation, especially when injuries range from minor to life-threatening. Reports may review travel direction, turn timing, road surface, visibility, and where each vehicle entered the intersection. Airbag deployment and final vehicle positions may also help explain how much force was involved.
