What Is Commonly Examined in Center-Line Cross-Over Crashes?
Many times, center-line crossover crashes involve a vehicle drifting or crossing into oncoming traffic, which can result in severe impacts. Investigators typically review roadway conditions, driver behavior, and vehicle speed to determine why the lane departure occurred.
Common contributing factors may include distraction, fatigue, mechanical issues, or medical emergencies. Evidence such as skid marks, tire tracks, and vehicle damage patterns can help reconstruct the movement of both vehicles before the crash. Seatbelt usage, road design, and visibility conditions are also reviewed. These findings help establish how the collision occurred and what circumstances may have contributed to the outcome.
