Pedestrian Safety at Signalized Intersections
Intersections, such as those at Maple Avenue and Tulare Avenue, can create risks due to turning movements. When injuries are reported in Fresno, crews often work to stabilize traffic flow and protect people at the scene.
Pedestrians often rely on crosswalks and traffic signals to move safely across busy streets. Even with these protections, collisions may occur if drivers fail to notice someone crossing or if traffic conditions change quickly.
Urban intersections can include multiple lanes, turning vehicles, and varying traffic speeds. These factors can affect visibility and reaction time, which may increase the chance of a crash involving someone on foot.
