Cortland, IL (July 10, 2026) – A golf cart driver was hurt on Thursday morning after a collision involving a car on Illinois Route 38 in Cortland. The crash happened around 4:45 a.m. west of Hahn Dr.
Investigators said Timothy Sasse, 56, of DeKalb, was driving east on IL-38 when his car struck the rear of an EZGO golf cart operated by Anthony Fidis II, 28, of DeKalb. The golf cart left the roadway and came to rest in a ditch.
Fidis was taken to a local hospital for treatment. Sasse was cited for general speed restrictions, and his vehicle was removed from the roadway. The circumstances surrounding the collision continue to be reviewed.
