Greer, SC (January 8, 2026) – A deadly crash involving a truck and an 18-wheeler occurred near Maple Place in Greer, prompting a large-scale emergency response and the involvement of the county coroner.
The collision was reported around 3:21 a.m. on January 7. Crews from the Greer Police and Fire Departments arrived to find a severe crash with one of the vehicles reportedly pinned beneath the other. Emergency responders quickly began rescue operations, but one person was confirmed to have suffered fatal injuries. The coroner was notified and dispatched to the scene shortly thereafter.
Due to the severity of the incident, southbound traffic near Dixie was shut down while fire and rescue units conducted recovery efforts and cleared the scene. Authorities have not released the identity of the victim or confirmed how many others may have been involved.
