Hampton, VA (January 5, 2026) – Emergency crews responded to a traffic accident with injuries late Monday morning near the intersection of W Mercury Blvd and Cunningham Dr in Hampton. The crash occurred in front of the 7-Eleven located at that intersection and was reported at approximately 11:10 a.m. on January 4.
According to dispatch audio, Medic Nine and Engine Ten were dispatched to the scene to assist injured individuals. Upon arrival, emergency personnel began treating those hurt in the collision. The exact number of people injured and the severity of their injuries have not been confirmed, but all involved received on-scene medical attention.
Traffic near the busy intersection was temporarily affected as crews worked to care for the victims and manage the crash site. The area was cleared shortly afterward, and normal traffic flow resumed.
The cause of the accident has not been disclosed, and officials are expected to review the circumstances to determine what contributed to the collision.
