Emergency units were called to a residence at 19 East Street around 2:09 a.m. after reports of a house fire. Crews arriving at the scene encountered heavy fire conditions inside the occupied building.
Responders entered the home and conducted searches on all floors to ensure everyone inside was safely out of the structure. The fire was later brought under control while crews continued working at the scene. One resident was taken to a nearby hospital for evaluation of injuries. No injuries among firefighters were reported during the response.
