Hartford, CT (March 22, 2026) – A serious two-vehicle crash early on Saturday morning, March 21, on Blue Hills Avenue near Boothbay Street in Hartford resulted in one driver being ejected from their vehicle.
Emergency units responded around midnight after a white Lexus rolled over. The driver was ejected and transported to St. Francis Hospital with serious injuries. The other driver, operating a white Toyota, sustained minor injuries and was also taken to St. Francis Hospital for treatment.
Officials said the Lexus was traveling southbound and attempted to pass the Toyota when it spun out, striking several fences and two parked cars. Authorities continue to investigate the crash, and more information will be released as it becomes available.
Our thoughts are with the injured drivers as they receive medical care.
Why Single-Vehicle Loss of Control Can Lead to Severe Injuries
When a vehicle loses control while passing another car, it can spin or roll, increasing the risk of injury or ejection. Speed, road conditions, and sharp maneuvers all increase the likelihood of a rollover.
Rollover crashes can also damage nearby structures, such as fences or parked vehicles, adding to the danger. Wearing seatbelts and maintaining safe speeds can reduce the risk of serious injuries, but high-speed loss of control can still result in severe outcomes, particularly for drivers and passengers in smaller vehicles.
