What Happens After a Fatal Two-Vehicle Crash?
When a fatal crash occurs, emergency units respond to secure the scene and provide aid to anyone injured. The vehicles involved are usually examined to determine how the collision occurred, including by examining points of impact and damage patterns. Road conditions, weather, and traffic signals can also be reviewed to help explain what may have contributed. Witness accounts and photographs from the scene often provide further context. Medical staff document injuries, which can later clarify the effects of the collision. Even when details are limited initially, these steps help create a clearer understanding of how a crash unfolded.
