Batavia, OH (May 25, 2026) – A 28-year-old man lost his life after a hit-and-run along Old State Rte 74 in Batavia Township early Monday morning. Deputies said the pedestrian was found unresponsive near the roadway around 12:20 a.m. after being struck by an unidentified vehicle.
The man was identified as Colton Dearing. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Further details about the collision were not immediately available.
