Hartford, CT (January 24, 2026) – Emergency responders were called to a vehicle accident in the westbound tunnel of I-84 in Hartford on January 23 following reports of injuries, including one unresponsive individual.
The crash occurred in the left lane inside the tunnel, prompting a swift EMS response. Initial reports indicated at least one person was experiencing pain, while a second party was described as unresponsive upon arrival. Medical personnel quickly began on-site assessments and initiated care for both individuals.
Fire crews also evaluated the structure of the tunnel to ensure no further hazards were present. Traffic was significantly affected during the response as emergency teams worked to stabilize the scene and safely transport the injured.
