What Factors Can Contribute to Head-On Crashes?
Head-on crashes can be among the most serious types of roadway collisions because the force of two vehicles traveling toward each other can create a significant impact. These crashes may occur due to lane departures, driver errors, roadway conditions, or other factors that cause vehicles to enter opposing traffic lanes.
Investigators may review vehicle damage, roadway evidence, driver actions, and witness information to determine how the crash occurred. The location of the vehicles after impact and other details from the scene can help establish the sequence of events. This information can provide a clearer picture of the circumstances surrounding a fatal collision.
