Why Motorcycle Crashes Often Result in Severe Outcomes
Motorcycle crashes tend to lead to more serious injuries compared to other types of traffic incidents. Riders do not have the same level of protection as those inside enclosed vehicles, which increases their exposure during an impact.
Being thrown from a motorcycle is a common outcome in these crashes, especially when they involve larger vehicles like pickup trucks. The difference in size and weight can make collisions more dangerous for riders.
Road positioning, visibility, and reaction time also play a part in how these crashes occur. Intersections and highway stretches can present added risks when vehicles approach from different directions or at varying speeds.
