Understanding Rear-End Collisions
Rear-end crashes are among the most common types of traffic accidents. They typically occur when a driver fails to maintain a safe following distance or cannot stop in time when traffic slows or stops ahead.
These collisions often happen due to distracted driving, sudden braking, speeding, or poor road conditions. Even at moderate speeds, rear-end impacts can cause injuries such as whiplash, back strain, and other soft tissue injuries.
Drivers can reduce the risk of rear-end crashes by staying alert, maintaining adequate distance between vehicles, and anticipating traffic slowdowns—especially near intersections, merging areas, and busy roadways.
