Failure to Yield at Highway Crossings Can Lead to Serious Crashes
Crashes at highway crossings often happen when a driver attempts to enter or cross a major roadway without enough time or space. Vehicles traveling on highways typically move at higher speeds, which reduces the margin for error.
When a driver fails to yield, the oncoming vehicle may not have enough time to slow down or avoid the collision. These impacts are often severe due to the speed and direction of travel.
Intersections where smaller roads meet highways can be especially risky. Limited visibility, traffic flow, and timing all affect how safely drivers can cross or merge. Careful judgment and awareness are key factors in preventing these types of crashes.
