Cowley County, KS (August 12, 2026) – A driver was injured on Monday evening, August 10, when a white Jeep crossed onto US-77 and struck a pickup in rural Cowley County.
The 1992 blue Ford F-150 was traveling north on US-77 near 222nd Rd shortly before 7 p.m. when the Jeep, possibly a Wrangler, entered the highway from 222nd Rd and collided with the truck. The pickup was driven by Guadalupe Diaz, 61, of Winfield.
The Jeep left after the accident, and its driver has not been identified. Diaz was taken to Wesley Medical Center by EagleMed, though his injuries were not immediately detailed.
Emergency units handled the crash, while investigators continue working to identify the Jeep and its driver.
