Carmichael, CA (August 16, 2026) – Two people riding bicycles were injured after being struck by an unknown vehicle early Friday morning on Manzanita Avenue in Carmichael. The crash was reported around 1:54 a.m. on August 14.
The California Highway Patrol incident log stated that the two bicyclists were hit by a vehicle that was not seen at the scene. The vehicle fled the area before emergency crews arrived. The initial report was first described as a possible vehicle-versus-pedestrian crash before being updated to indicate that two people on bicycles were involved.
Fire personnel were requested, and the incident was transferred to Sacramento Fire for assistance. The circumstances remain under investigation. Our thoughts are with both injured bicyclists as they recover.
