Arcadia, FL (August 24, 2026) – A 29-year-old bicyclist from Arcadia was critically injured after being struck in a hit-and-run crash on West Pine Street on Saturday, August 22. The crash happened west of Manatee Avenue.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, a Ford Aerostar was traveling east on West Pine Street when it struck the bicyclist. The bicyclist was traveling west and was thrown from his bicycle onto the roadway. The man was taken to a hospital with critical injuries.
The driver of the Aerostar left the scene, but troopers later located the suspected vehicle and driver at an Arcadia apartment complex. The vehicle was impounded for forensic examination, and charges remain pending further investigation.
