Fremont, CA (August 31, 2026) – A motorcycle was struck in a hit-and-run crash early on Saturday, August 29, on southbound Interstate 880 near State Route 84 in Fremont.
According to California Highway Patrol logs, the motorcycle was blocking the second lane after the collision. The rider was reported to have no injuries and was with a friend while they attempted to move the damaged motorcycle out of the roadway. The vehicle that struck the motorcycle left the scene, and no description was available.
CHP personnel arranged a traffic break while crews worked around the disabled motorcycle. The motorcycle was described as badly damaged, and a tow truck was requested to remove it. A white sedan was also reported stopped on the right shoulder.
The rider was fortunate not to suffer reported injuries, but the incident highlights the dangers of collisions involving vulnerable road users on busy freeways.
