How Left-Turn Accidents Create Serious Risks for Motorcyclists
Motorcycle crashes involving turning vehicles can lead to severe injuries because riders have far less protection than people inside passenger vehicles. These accidents frequently happen when a driver turns across traffic and misjudges the speed or distance of an approaching motorcycle.
Busy highways with multiple lanes and nearby business entrances may increase the chances of this type of collision. Motorcycles can also be harder for drivers to spot, especially during quick turning movements or heavy traffic conditions.
After a fatal motorcycle accident, investigators review vehicle positioning, roadway visibility, speed, and traffic patterns to better understand how the accident occurred. Damage to the vehicles and nearby surveillance footage may also help clarify the sequence of events leading up to the crash.
