What Happens When Occupants Become Trapped in Crashes
In some collisions, the force of impact can cause vehicle structures to collapse or doors to become jammed, trapping occupants inside. This can make it difficult for individuals to exit without assistance.
Specialized rescue teams often use tools to cut through metal and safely remove those trapped. These efforts are carefully coordinated to prevent further injury.
The severity of injuries in these situations can vary depending on the impact and how long occupants remain inside the vehicle before rescue.
