Houston, TX (January 18, 2026) – A deadly traffic collision occurred early Friday morning in Houston, resulting in at least one confirmed fatality near the area of Fairpoint Dr, close to Almeda Genoa Rd and Cullen Blvd.
The crash took place on January 17, shortly before 2:00 a.m. According to the radio dispatch, officers confirmed one person deceased at the scene. The vehicle involved was described as a black Chevy Traverse, which was reportedly seen returning to the location shortly after the crash occurred.
Authorities have not disclosed the circumstances leading up to the collision, and the identity of the deceased has not been released. The investigation is being handled by local law enforcement and the Vehicular Crimes Division.
It remains unclear if additional individuals were injured or if any arrests have been made. Police were working to obtain more details, though the original call came in anonymously.
