Houston, TX (January 21, 2026) – A serious two-car crash at the intersection of Emancipation Ave and Elgin St left at least one person injured Tuesday afternoon, after emergency crews responded to reports of a driver trapped inside a severely damaged vehicle.
The collision took place around 12:42 p.m. and involved a silver sedan and a red SUV. Responding officers confirmed that one of the vehicles was not drivable, with the driver’s side crushed in. Emergency medical services were requested immediately upon arrival, as the driver was reportedly unable to exit the vehicle without assistance.
Houston Fire and EMS units arrived shortly after to render aid to the injured party, while additional units were called in to support the scene. A wrecker was also dispatched to remove at least one of the vehicles involved, which had sustained significant damage.
Traffic was impacted near the intersection as crews worked to clear the wreckage and assist the injured driver. At this time, details about the cause of the crash remain under investigation.
