Georges Mills, NH (July 26, 2026) – One person was seriously hurt in a house fire reported on July 24, along Route 11 in Georges Mills.
Emergency units were dispatched at about 1:24 a.m. to a two-story wood-frame home at 1228 Route 11 after multiple 911 callers reported heavy flames and a person calling for help. A fire officer who was already handling a separate alarm in town immediately headed to the residence and upgraded the response as additional reports came in.
When crews arrived around 1:30 a.m., they found heavy fire coming from the front and one side of the home. A person with severe burns was found outside the residence and received immediate medical treatment before being taken to New London Hospital. Due to the seriousness of the burn injuries, the patient was later flown by medical helicopter to Massachusetts General Hospital for further care.
Additional details about the fire, including the patient’s identity and what led to the flames, had not been released at the time of publication. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
