What Factors Are Linked to Wrong-Way Crashes on Highways?
Transitional zones between highways and surface streets near Interstate 15 can increase crash risk. When serious collisions occur in Idaho Falls, crews often focus on managing traffic flow and securing the area.
Wrong-way crashes often happen when a driver enters a roadway in the wrong direction, sometimes due to confusion, poor visibility, or missed signage. These incidents can be especially dangerous because vehicles are moving toward each other at high speeds.
Head-on impacts are common in these situations and can result in severe outcomes. Road design, signage placement, and driver awareness can all influence how these crashes occur.
