Rocky Point, NY (August 5, 2026) – Two people were injured in a two-vehicle collision involving a driver accused of driving while ability-impaired by drugs and alcohol on Monday night at the intersection of Route 25A and the bypass in Rocky Point.
The crash happened around 10:10 p.m. on August 3, when a Honda SUV struck a Ford pickup stopped at a red light. According to officials, the 2011 Honda SUV driver, a 20-year-old man from Roslyn Heights, and his 19-year-old male passenger were taken to Stony Brook University Hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. The 18-year-old Rocky Point man driving the Ford pickup was not hurt.
The Honda driver was charged with DWAI drugs and alcohol. The collision remains under investigation, and additional information may become available as the review continues.
