Indianapolis, IN (January 20, 2026) – Emergency crews responded to a severe two-vehicle accident near 86th St on January 19 that left an 82-year-old man injured and reportedly the sole survivor of the crash.
The man, who was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the incident, sustained a head injury and was actively vomiting when medics arrived. Though he showed no visible external wounds, responders noted bruising beginning to form on his forehead. He was alert with a Glasgow Coma Scale score of 14, and able to clear his airway despite ongoing vomiting.
Paramedics provided bilateral IV access and administered fluids and pain relief. His vital signs upon assessment included a blood pressure reading of 202/70 and a heart rate of 96. His oxygen saturation was measured at 98% on room air.
