Indianapolis, IN (January 13, 2026) – Emergency crews responded to a serious two-vehicle collision involving an 84-year-old woman on January 13 along Eskenazi Ave. The crash occurred just minutes before 7:30 a.m., prompting a trauma alert and rapid deployment of Indianapolis EMS and supporting agencies.
According to medics, the collision involved two vehicles traveling at approximately 40 to 50 miles per hour. Both vehicles sustained moderate damage, and the elderly occupant was found with significant injuries, including a dislocated left ankle and chest pain upon breathing. Additional complaints of lower abdominal pain were noted, though no visible bruising was observed.
On-scene responders provided initial care, stabilizing the patient with a cervical collar, oxygen, and intravenous pain relief. Although her oxygen saturation was slightly reduced at 90%, she remained conscious and oriented with a Glasgow Coma Scale score of 15.
The injured woman was transported to Eskenazi Hospital for further treatment. Officials confirmed she was not taking blood thinners and showed no signs of shortness of breath, despite shallow breathing patterns at the scene.
