El Cajon, CA (July 15, 2026) – Injuries were reported following a three-vehicle accident on Wednesday afternoon on the westbound I-8 east of Mollison Avenue in El Cajon. The collision was first reported at approximately 2:22 p.m.
Dispatch information indicated three vehicles were involved, with the damaged vehicles initially blocking the slow lane and the No. 3 lane. An open-line 911 call with audible vehicle horns prompted the initial dispatch, and towing services were requested to remove the vehicles from the freeway.
The call was later upgraded to reflect reported injuries, and emergency units were sent to assist those involved. All vehicles were eventually moved to the right shoulder, allowing traffic lanes to reopen. The number of people injured and the extent of their injuries had not been released at the time of publication. The cause of the wreck remains under investigation as additional details become available.
