Ontario, CA (July 21, 2026) – Three vehicles collided on the eastbound I-10 west of Archibald Avenue in Ontario early on Monday, July 20, blocking multiple lanes of the freeway. The report came in around 4:30 a.m. and involved a Mercedes SUV, a Toyota SUV and a Toyota Camry.
The driver of the Mercedes told dispatchers they were injured after striking another vehicle. An occupant of the Toyota Camry also complained of neck pain, and an ambulance was requested to the scene.
Tow trucks were called to remove the vehicles, which were blocking multiple lanes, including the fast lane and a lane further up the roadway. Authorities have not released additional details, and the case remains under review.

Why Do Multi-Vehicle Freeway Accidents Happen?
Multi-vehicle pileups start with a single vehicle slowing down or stopping unexpectedly. When a pileup blocks multiple lanes, it can create long backups and force other drivers to merge suddenly. This sudden merging raises the risk for other drivers nearby unless traffic can be redirected quickly. Tow crews and cleanup crews typically work to clear blocked lanes as fast as possible.
