What to Know About Multi-Person Highway Crashes
Highway crashes can create additional risks when people leave their vehicles near active traffic lanes. Drivers approaching a collision should slow down, remain alert, and move away from the affected area when possible.
Disabled or damaged vehicles can also reduce available roadway space and lead to secondary collisions. Using hazard lights and waiting in a safe location can help reduce exposure to passing traffic while assistance arrives.
