Lower Windsor Township, PA (June 24, 2026) – Multiple people were injured following a violent two-vehicle crash that sparked a fire late on Monday night, June 22, in Lower Windsor Township.
According to fire officials, emergency crews from Southern Area Fire and Emergency Rescue were dispatched to Cape Horn Rd near Old Dutch Ln at approximately 11:29 p.m. on June 22 after receiving reports of a crash with injuries and possible entrapment.
When firefighters arrived, both vehicles were heavily engulfed in flames. Officials said all occupants had escaped the vehicles before emergency personnel arrived, eliminating the need for a rescue operation.
Firefighters worked to extinguish the blaze while assisting EMS crews with patient care. Additional support was provided by York Area United Fire & Rescue during the response.
Authorities have not released the number of people injured or the severity of their injuries. No identities have been made public.
The crash and resulting fire caused significant damage to the roadway, prompting the closure of Cape Horn Rd for an indefinite period. Pennsylvania Department of Transportation crews were called to assist with the scene and assess roadway damage.
