Redford Township, MI (July 2, 2026) – Several people were injured in a multi-vehicle crash involving a semi-truck on Tuesday afternoon on Interstate 96 in Redford Township. Emergency crews responded to the eastbound lanes near Telegraph Road at approximately 12:40 p.m. following reports of the collision.
According to the Michigan State Police, the crash involved two heavily damaged passenger vehicles and a semi-truck. Authorities closed all eastbound lanes of I-96 while first responders assisted those involved and investigators examined the scene.
Officials confirmed that injuries were reported, but the number of people hurt and the severity of their injuries have not been released. The identities of those involved were not made public immediately.
Traffic was diverted off the freeway at Beech Daly Road for several hours while crews cleared the wreckage and conducted their investigation. The eastbound lanes have since reopened.
