Whittier, CA (July 2, 2026) – A two-vehicle crash was reported on Wednesday afternoon on southbound I-605 just north of Whittier Boulevard in Whittier.
According to initial California Highway Patrol dispatch information, the crash involved a black Porsche and a silver Toyota Camry, with the vehicles blocking the HOV lane. Airbags were reported to have deployed, and emergency units were notified as a precaution.
The collision was initially logged around 2:29 p.m., and additional units were assigned and sent to the freeway shortly afterward. The extent of injuries has not been confirmed.
Traffic in the area was affected while crews worked to assist those involved and clear the roadway.
