Gilroy, CA (July 19, 2026) – At least one person was hurt in a two-vehicle collision on July 17 on southbound Watsonville Rd just north of Day Rd in the Gilroy area.
According to preliminary dispatch reports, the crash was reported at approximately 3:35 p.m. and involved a brown or gray Toyota RAV4 and a gray Honda Civic. The southbound lanes were blocked as multiple motorists stopped to assist before emergency units arrived.
Initial reports indicated that an occupant of the Honda Civic was outside the vehicle with significant bleeding from the nose and a possible leg injury. A crash detection alert from an iPhone also indicated that the vehicles were likely involved in a serious impact with possible injuries, although the number of occupants was unknown.
Additional details, including the identities of those involved and the full extent of their injuries, had not been released. The cause of the collision remains under review as investigators continue gathering information.
