Prunedale, CA (August 4, 2026) – At least one person was hurt in a hit-and-run along Crazy Horse Canyon Road near the northbound US-101 in Prunedale on August 2.
According to the California Highway Patrol traffic log, the call was reported at about 3:59 p.m. near the Crazy Horse Canyon Road off-ramp to northbound US-101. Initial reports indicated both vehicles were at the roadside following the crash. Dispatch records later stated that two or three young males got into a third vehicle and fled before emergency units arrived.
The CHP log also noted that a be-on-the-lookout alert was issued for the suspect vehicle. Additional information indicated that investigators obtained a possible license plate capture through a Flock Safety camera near the Natividad and Boronda area shortly after the driver left the scene.
No information about the extent of the reported injuries was immediately released.
The cause of the hit-and-run remains under investigation as officials continue gathering information.
