Irvine, CA (January 19, 2026) – An early morning traffic collision resulted in injuries at the southbound I-5 on-ramp from Alton Pkwy near the Irvine Health and Science Complex, according to emergency response reports from Sunday.
The crash occurred at approximately 1:14 a.m., involving at least one vehicle attempting to enter the freeway. Emergency medical teams arrived swiftly at the scene and assisted an individual who suffered injuries in the incident. The injured party was transported to a nearby hospital for further medical care. Their condition remains unknown at this time.
The on-ramp was partially blocked while crews worked to stabilize the scene and remove the involved vehicle(s). Drivers in the area experienced minor delays due to the emergency activity and cleanup.
