Why Highway Pedestrian Incidents Are Especially Dangerous
Highways are designed for high-speed travel, making them extremely hazardous for pedestrians.
Limited reaction time and restricted stopping distance increase the likelihood of severe outcomes.
Barriers and restricted access areas are intended to keep pedestrians out of traffic lanes and reduce the risk of these tragic incidents.
