Southside, AR (April 13, 2026) – One person was killed, and two others were injured following a three-vehicle crash on Monday morning in Southside.
According to authorities, the collision occurred on U.S. Highway 167 South near the junction with State Highway 14 in Independence County.
The Arkansas Department of Transportation first reported the crash at approximately 6:49 a.m., noting a multi-vehicle collision that caused significant travel disruptions in the area.
Emergency crews responded quickly to the scene, where one fatality was confirmed. Two additional individuals were injured and transported to nearby hospitals for treatment. Their identities and current conditions have not yet been released.
Officials stated that all lanes of Highway 167 were temporarily blocked as first responders worked to assist victims and clear the roadway. Independence County Sheriff Shawn Stephens confirmed the fatality, while the Arkansas State Police has taken over the investigation.
