Jacksonville, FL (January 14, 2026) – A devastating crash late Tuesday night claimed the lives of two men on Interstate 10 in Duval County, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
The fatal incident occurred at approximately 11:51 p.m. near the Stockton Street exit. Authorities say a 45-year-old Jacksonville man was driving a 2016 Lexus sedan in the left travel lane before switching to the right and veering off the roadway.
The vehicle struck a Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) sign and began to overturn before crashing into an overhead sign support. According to troopers, the driver was ejected from the vehicle as he was not wearing a seatbelt. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
A 31-year-old male passenger, also from Jacksonville, was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash but sadly died at the scene as well.
The Florida Highway Patrol is continuing to investigate the circumstances of the crash. It is currently unknown what led the driver to lose control of the vehicle.
Our deepest condolences go out to the families and friends of the two men who lost their lives in this tragic incident.
