Jasper County, MO (May 16, 2026) – Three people were injured on Friday afternoon following a two-vehicle crash on Hwy 59 about 5.5 miles from Diamond in Jasper County.
The collision occurred at about 12:35 p.m. on May 15. According to the crash report, a 2015 Nissan Rogue was traveling northbound when it crested a hill and collided with a westbound 2016 Chevrolet Trax.
Investigators said both vehicles traveled off the right side of the roadway after the impact. Emergency units responded to the scene and found both vehicles with total damage.
The 19-year-old driver of the Nissan, a woman from Lamar, suffered moderate injuries and was taken by ambulance to Mercy Hospital in Joplin. The 65-year-old driver of the Chevrolet, also from Lamar, sustained moderate injuries and was transported to the same hospital. A 90-year-old passenger in the Nissan suffered serious injuries and was also taken to Mercy Hospital in Joplin for treatment.
Authorities continue to investigate the cause of the crash, and more details will be released as soon as they become available.
