Jefferson Co., MO (April 15, 2026) – A 68-year-old woman from Fenton was killed in a four-vehicle crash at the intersection of Little Brennan Rd and Emerson Rd in Jefferson County.
The crash occurred shortly after 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday, April 14, when a Honda Odyssey attempted a left turn onto Emerson Rd and failed to yield to oncoming traffic. During the turn, a BMW 740i struck the right side of the Honda, triggering a chain-reaction collision.
The impact pushed the Honda into another BMW before it left the roadway. The vehicle then struck a curb, a sign, and a sewer access point, continued into a private parking lot, hit a parked Toyota Highlander, and finally came to rest after colliding with a building.
The driver of the Honda was taken to a nearby hospital, where she later died from her injuries. No other injuries were reported in the crash.
Authorities continue to investigate the cause of the crash, and more details will be released as they become available. We extend our sincere condolences to the family of the deceased.
How Left-Turn Collisions Can Lead to Multi-Vehicle Crashes
Crashes involving left turns often occur when a driver misjudges the speed or distance of oncoming traffic. This can lead to a side-impact collision, which may push vehicles into other lanes or nearby objects.
Once the initial impact happens, the force can cause a chain reaction involving multiple vehicles. This is especially likely at busy intersections where traffic is moving in different directions.
Roadside features such as curbs, signs, and parked vehicles can also become part of the crash path. These added impacts can increase the overall damage and severity of the incident.
