Johnson Co, MO (January 22, 2026) – A pedestrian sustained moderate injuries after being struck by a northbound vehicle along MO-13 on Wednesday night. The incident occurred around 7:01 p.m., just a quarter mile south of NE 700 Rd, and is under investigation by authorities with Troop A.
According to initial reports, a 2013 Chevrolet Impala driven by a 20-year-old man from Lexington was traveling north when it struck a 32-year-old woman standing in the middle of the northbound lanes. The female pedestrian, a resident of Warrensburg, was not using a safety device at the time of the incident.
Despite suffering moderate injuries, the pedestrian declined transport and refused medical treatment at the scene. The driver of the Impala was uninjured and remained on site to cooperate with investigators. His vehicle sustained minor damage and was driven away following the crash.
The circumstances that led to the pedestrian being in the roadway remain unclear. Assisting at the scene were Cpl. K.M. Hoover and Tpr. R.E. Tayloe, who supported the investigation and scene control.
We extend our thoughts to the injured woman and hope for her continued recovery.
