Bevington, IA (August 8, 2026) – A Johnston man was killed on Thursday afternoon after his vehicle left Interstate 35 near Bevington and crashed into a bridge pillar.
The crash happened shortly after 1 p.m. on southbound I-35. According to an Iowa State Patrol crash report, 37-year-old Kevin Lamont Marvin was traveling south when he drove into the median.
Marvin continued south before driving between the northbound and southbound bridges of I-35. His vehicle then went airborne and crashed into one of the pillars supporting the southbound bridge.
Marvin died as a result of the collision. No additional injuries were reported in the available information. The crash remains under investigation as authorities work to determine what caused the vehicle to leave the roadway.
