Why Hit-and-Run Crashes Can Complicate Investigations
Hit-and-run crashes present additional challenges for investigators because one of the involved parties leaves the scene. This can delay identification and make it harder to determine how the crash occurred.
In multi-vehicle incidents, evidence such as vehicle damage, debris, and witness statements becomes especially important in reconstructing events.
Law enforcement often relies on community tips, surveillance footage, and roadway evidence to locate the suspect vehicle and driver.
