One eastbound lane reopened by 8 a.m., and a second eastbound lane reopened around 8:45 a.m. All lanes were open again by about 9 a.m.
The crash remains under investigation. Additional details may become available as authorities continue their review. Our thoughts are with the person injured as they recover.
How Semi Crashes Can Disrupt Interstate Traffic
Semi crashes can affect several lanes because large trucks need more space to stop and move. When a truck strikes a barrier or crosses lanes, debris and damaged vehicles may spread across the roadway.
Interstate crashes also create a higher risk of secondary collisions. Drivers approaching the scene may face sudden slowdowns, lane shifts, or stopped traffic. This is why lane restrictions often remain in place until the road is safe.
Even when injuries are minor, cleanup can take time. Crews may need to inspect damaged barriers, move vehicles, and clear debris before traffic returns to normal. These steps help reduce hazards for drivers passing through the area.
